Formula 310 moisture issues

We're looking at an 08 Formula 310 Sun Sport but it showed some moisture issues. It has elevated readings in the transom and midships cabin sole. the boat has been on a hoist since 21, but we plan to use it in fresh water for half the year. is it possible that it will have long term problems? If the moisture has been sitting there for years, it could mean hidden rot or delamination. Have you had a surveyor check how far the moisture has spread, or was this from a handheld meter? If the readings are high but the fiberglass still feels sturdy, you might be catching it early enough to avoid a major overhaul.

Transom moisture can lead to serious rot and structural issues, while the cabin sole could indicate leaks!
I would also strongly suggest to get a marine surveyor to determine if the core material is compromised.
If it is, you're looking at potential long-term problems and costly repairs!

My experience so far has taught me that if there's doubt you should walk away. If you think a surveyer is worth it then go for it, but I would find another formula, there's plenty on the market

Yeah, it's good to see how versions stack up. Just watch out, though, you might run into snags with what works and maybe get locked out with the new stuff. Tread carefully

Hi OP @deep-ando45. For me I'm kinda leaning toward what @Greaseboy said over here. There are too many clean boats out there to gamble on something like this... A thorough survey might confirm it, sure... But sometimes walking away saves a lot of headaches.
